Mini Sport Alloy Roller Tip Rockers for Classic Mini A-Series Engines

Upgrade the valve train of your Classic Mini with Mini Sport alloy roller tip rockers, designed to improve valve operation, reduce friction and minimise side loading on the valve stems and guides.

Unlike a conventional rocker that slides across the valve stem, each precision roller tip follows the valve more smoothly as it opens and closes. This supports more accurate valve movement, smoother engine operation and reduced unnecessary wear throughout a correctly assembled A-Series valve train.

Designed and manufactured in the UK by Mini Sport, our roller tip rocker assemblies are precision CNC machined in our own engineering facility and supplied as complete replacements for the original Mini rocker gear.

Choose the Right Rocker Ratio

1.3:1 Roller Tip Rockers
The standard-style option for road Minis, restorations and engine rebuilds. The 1.3:1 ratio retains factory-style valve lift while adding the benefits of roller-tip operation, reduced friction and smoother valve movement.

1.5:1 Roller Tip Rockers
The performance-focused option for fast-road and modified engines. The higher ratio increases effective valve lift, helping a suitably matched engine breathe more efficiently through the cylinder head.

The correct choice depends on the engine size, camshaft, cylinder head specification and how the Mini will be used. The best results come from components selected to work together as a complete engine package.

Classic Mini Engine Compatibility

Mini Sport Roller Tip Rockers are designed for Classic Mini A-Series and A+ engines, including 998cc, 1098cc and 1275cc applications. They can be used with carburettor and fuel-injected Minis, subject to the complete engine specification.

The 1.3:1 assembly is the natural choice for standard and road-focused engines. The 1.5:1 assembly is better suited to fast-road and performance builds where the cylinder head, camshaft, intake and exhaust system can make use of the additional valve lift.

Installation and Setup

Correct installation is essential whenever the rocker assembly is changed. Valve clearances, roller-tip alignment, pushrod condition, oil supply and rocker-cover clearance should all be checked before starting the engine.

On modified engines, the valve springs, retainers and seals must also have sufficient clearance throughout the full valve movement. Rotate the engine carefully by hand after installation and recheck the valve clearances after the engine has been run and allowed to cool.
