The Mini Sport MSLMS0500 Front Adjusta Ride Set gives you control over the front ride height of a Classic Mini fitted with dry rubber-cone suspension. It replaces the original fixed-length front suspension struts and knuckle joints with adjustable units, allowing the front of the car to be set to the height required for its suspension condition, wheel and tyre package, and intended use.

Front ride height is more than a styling decision. The position of the front suspension affects the operating angle of the suspension arms and provides the starting point for setting tracking, camber and the overall front-end geometry. Adjusta Ride allows that height to be established and corrected rather than relying on a fixed-length trumpet.

Fitment Note:
This kit is part of the Classic Mini front dry-suspension assembly and works alongside the front rubber cones, upper arms, rebound buffers, dampers and suspension geometry components.
It should be fitted when converting the front suspension from fixed-length struts to adjustable ride height, with the condition of the rubber cones, knuckle seats and upper-arm components checked during installation.

Why Adjust the Front Ride Height?

Original Mini suspension uses a fixed-length strut between the rubber cone and suspension arm. As rubber cones settle with age or other suspension components are changed, the height of the front of the car can move away from the desired setting.

Adjusta Ride replaces that fixed dimension with an adjustable one. This gives you the ability to establish the front ride height accurately, correct a front end that is sitting too high or too low, and reset the height when the specification of the suspension changes.

Front Suspension Setup Matters

The front of a Classic Mini does several jobs at once: it carries the power unit, steers the car and controls a large part of the suspension geometry. For that reason, front ride height should be established before making final tracking or camber adjustments.

Once Adjusta Ride has been fitted, allow the suspension to settle and measure the car on level ground. Make final height adjustments first, then check the front wheel alignment and any adjustable geometry components fitted to the car.

Inspect the Front Suspension at the Same Time

Accessing the front strut and rubber cone creates a useful opportunity to inspect the surrounding suspension components. The front dry-suspension assembly includes the rubber cone, strut and knuckle joint, upper arm, rebound buffer and damper, so wear in these areas should be dealt with before the final ride height is set.

• Check the front rubber cones for age, compression or deterioration.
• Inspect the knuckle seats before fitting the new joints.
• Check the upper arms and fulcrum components for wear or unwanted movement.
• Inspect the rebound buffers and renew damaged or deteriorated parts.
• Check the front dampers and their mountings.

Installation and Final Checks

• Use the correct suspension cone compression equipment when the rubber cone must be compressed or removed.
• Make sure both Adjusta Ride units and their knuckle joints are correctly seated.
• Start with a sensible front ride height rather than immediately setting the car as low as possible.
• Place the car on level ground and allow the suspension to settle before taking final measurements.
• Check tyre, wheel and body clearance through steering lock and suspension movement.
• Check front wheel alignment after the final ride height has been established.
• Recheck the setup after the car has been driven and the suspension has settled.
