Mini Sport Rear Adjusta Ride Set - MSLMS0501

The Mini Sport Rear Adjusta Ride Set (MSLMS0501) gives you control over the rear ride height of a dry-suspension Classic Mini. Replacing the original fixed-length rear suspension trumpets with adjustable units allows the rear of the car to be set at the height required for its suspension specification and intended use.

This makes the rear set particularly useful when correcting the stance of a Mini, setting the car up after suspension work or matching the rear ride height to an existing front suspension setup. Rather than treating lowering as the goal, Adjusta Ride allows the suspension height to be set deliberately as part of the overall setup of the car.

Why Adjust The Rear Ride Height?

The way a Classic Mini sits is closely connected to the condition and setup of its suspension. Rubber cones settle and compress with age, while replacement suspension components can alter the final height of the car.

With a fixed trumpet, there is no straightforward way to compensate for those differences. Adjusta Ride introduces an adjustable component into the suspension system, allowing the rear ride height to be corrected rather than being dictated solely by the fixed-length original arrangement.

For owners already using Adjusta Ride at the front, the rear set also provides the adjustment needed to establish a more considered front-to-rear stance.

Fitment & Suspension Setup

MSLMS0501 is for dry-suspension Classic Minis. When fitting the rear Adjusta Ride system, take the opportunity to inspect the rubber cones, knuckle joints, radius arms, dampers and associated suspension components for wear.

The rubber cones are particularly important. Adjusta Ride allows the suspension height to be set, but it does not restore the spring characteristics of an old or heavily compressed rubber cone. Where the cones are worn or significantly settled, replacement should be considered as part of the suspension work.

After installation, establish the required ride height carefully and allow for the condition of the complete suspension system. If substantial changes are being made to the car's ride height or suspension specification, the overall suspension geometry should also be checked.
